PE

Teacher of Physical Education: Peter Skerrett - pskerrett@stpetersindependent.org.uk

PE is taught in 45mins and 1.5 hour slots across the prep school and the senior school.

Students across the board are taught in 2 different areas, "games" and "health and fitness."  The games module is based around throwing/ catching, dodging and passing and general rules of the game that we are studying.  We offer a variety of games including, netball, hockey, benchball, basketball, dodgeball, football and badminton.

The health and fitness programme looks at staying fit and healthy, maintaining a healthy heart, different components of fitness and fitness testing.  The students are tested termly on their level of fitness by a series of circuit tests and all results are recorded.

Our summer programme allows us to enjoy the outside space where we concentrate on the traditional summer sports of rounders, cricket and athletics.  These particular sports prepare our students for sports day where they compete in houses in all 3 activities.

Sports club is offered after school on a Thursday where students can come and enjoy playing in a relaxed environment.
